Insert an allan wrench into one hole untill it seats in the allan screw on the opposite side of the hole in the point

It breaks rocks, splits roots and other debris as it makes its way under the pavement and opens a hole larger than the shafts. The actual diameter of this part is 2" in. It will make a hole large enough to accommodate a 1 1 4" pipe with a coupling.
